Abstract

underestimated because of prolonged pain to needle and door to needle time. With regards to thrombolysis with streptokinase, there is a need to advocate for early presentation when high risk groups have chest pain, starting thrombolysis at the mergency department to shOlten average door to needle time and to consider pre-hospital thrombolysis in the long run. There is still a need for further studies to identify causes of prolonged door to needle time and a more accurate success rate of thrombolysis with streptokinase using better definition or the gold standard, angiogram. Considering the acquisition of a newer, costy thrombolytic maybe premature due our failure to fully utilize our CUtTent cheaper alternative, streptokinase.
