Abstract

Type 2 Diabetic mellitus is a major public health burden with high prevalence rates of up to 40%in the Pacific and Fiji (19.3%). Evidence suggests increased physical activity improves glycemic control and health outcomes of diabetic patients. The aim was therefore to examine physical activity levels, explore links between physical activity and glycaemic control, investigate barriers to physical and glycaemic control, and investigate barriers to physical activity among diabetic patients.
