Abstract

Consultations
Consultations on the health research ethics review process in Fiji were conducted between 18 and 22 September 2017 in Suva. A list of persons consulted is to be found in Annexe 1. The information and suggestions provided by those consulted have been reported according to a number of themes.
The University of Fiji and the Tisi Sangam College of Nursing and Health Care Education were contacted by e-mail to seek their input, but no replies were received. At the conclusion of the reporting of each theme a number of recommendations is made.
It should be noted that the present Fiji National Health Research Ethics Review Committee is an interim body. The previous ethics committee in the Ministry of Health and Medical Services was
dissolved early in 2016
